If you''re interested in playing chess and you live anywhere in the Wigan area then Wigan Knights is not just any old chess club, Wigan Knights is the club for you.  We are a friendly club, where anyone of any age is welcome.   We cater for all standards of play, from complete beginners right up to international level. We play in the Warrington and District Chess League, so whether you want a competative match or just a friendly social game, over a drink of tea or coffee, we are the club for you.

The club meets from 7.30 pm on Thursdays at St Stephen''s Parish Hall, St Stephen''s Church, Hieland Road, off Plantation Gates, Whelley, Wigan. WN1 3UT

Fees

The annual membership is £30 per year, £15 for those in full time education. If a player is a member of the NMS or ECF then the membership fee will be reduced by £5.  All members who wish to play competitive matches must pay the annual membership fee.

If a member does not wish to play competitive matches for the club they may still pay the annual membership fee or alternatively, pay £1 each week they attend the club (i.e. there''s nothing to pay if your not able to come to the club for any reason).
