If you're interested in playing chess and you live anywhere in the Wigan area then Wigan Knights is not just any old chess club, Wigan Knights is the club for you.  We are a friendly club, where anyone of any age is welcome.   We cater for all standards of play, from complete beginners right up to international level. We play in the Warrington and District Chess League, so whether you want a competative match or just a friendly social game, over a drink of tea or coffee, we are the club for you.

Venue 

The club meets from 7.30 pm on Thursdays at St Stephen's Parish Hall, St Stephen's Church, Hieland Road, off Plantation Gates, Whelley, Wigan. WN1 3UT

Fees

Cost of membership is £2 per week of attendance (i.e. there's nothing to pay if your not able to come to the club for any reason) for adults, £1 for those in full time education, or, for those who prefer to pay an annual membership fee, £50 per year for adults, £25 for those in full time education.  
The fees cover the cost of the hall, WDCL league, cup, and grading fees, the cost of equipment when necessary; oh, and that cup of tea or coffee.
